Bandung, Indonesia, 2 August 2026 – The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) officially welcomed a delegation from PERMATA Division, Malaysia for the Regional Training on Child Rights-Based Early Childhood Education through the Our Happy Neighbourhood (OHN) Module, held from 2–7 August 2026 in Bandung, Indonesia.
The Malaysian delegation consists of twelve participants led by Noor Azila Binti Fadzin, accompanied by Rosnani Binti Daud, Mohd Imrizal Bin Abdul Aziz, Uthayacshantni A/P Saigran, Salmirah Binti Mohd Jaafar, Tengku Mazira Binti Tengku Muda, Suriati Binti Shapiai, Nurul Hafeezah Binti Abdullah, Nur Aqilah Binti Abd Ghafar, Nurul Farhana Binti Muzapar, Nur Nadiah Binti Azmi, and Siti Fatimah Binti Mohamed Ani.
The six-day programme aims to strengthen educators' capacity to implement child rights-based approaches in early childhood education through the Our Happy Neighbourhood (OHN) module while fostering regional collaboration and knowledge exchange between Indonesia and Malaysia.
In her welcoming remarks, Prof. Vina Adriany, Director of SEAMEO CECCEP, emphasized that the visit represents more than a training programme—it is an important opportunity to strengthen partnerships and promote mutual learning among Southeast Asian countries in advancing quality early childhood care and education.
Prof. Vina highlighted the significance of the ASEAN–SEAMEO Joint Roadmap on Early Childhood Care and Education, launched earlier this year in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat, the SEAMEO Secretariat, and Indonesia's Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. She described the roadmap as a historic achievement, marking the first regionally initiated framework for advancing early childhood education in Southeast Asia.
She also stressed that the launch of the roadmap is only the beginning. Its successful implementation will depend on strong collaboration among countries in the region. She noted that Indonesia and Malaysia share many cultural values and educational aspirations, making the training an ideal platform to exchange experiences, celebrate diversity, and learn from one another. Prof. Vina further reaffirmed the importance of investing in the first 1,000 days of a child's life and creating safe, inclusive, and child-centred learning environments that support children's holistic development.
Throughout the programme, participants will engage in interactive workshops, reflective discussions, and field visits to local kindergartens to observe child rights-based practices and exchange experiences in creating nurturing learning environments.
Representing the Malaysian delegation, Noor Azila Binti Fadzin, Group Leader of PERMATA Malaysia, expressed her appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by SEAMEO CECCEP.
